Leopard 2 „Ringtausch“ Agreement Signed

On Tuesday, 11th of October, the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic signed a collection of agreements for the delivery of 14 pieces of Leopard 2A4 main battle tanks and 1 piece of advanced recovery vehicle Büffel with German partners.

Defence, Foreign and Interior Ministries to Entertain the Topic of Hybrid Interference

On October 10-11, 2022, the Czech Defence, Interior and Foreign Ministries will jointly organise the Strengthening Resilience and Countering Hybrid Interference conference in Prague as part of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The goal of the conference is to deepen the discussion about the rise of the hybrid interference in Europe and on instruments to jointly face it.

Czech Republic to receive assistance worth $106 million from USA

The United States Congress endorsed a military assistance package for the Czech Republic valued at USD 100 million from the Foreign Military Financing program to bolster modernisation of the Czech Armed Forces and to partly replace the materiel supplies to Ukraine, plus additional USD six million from the Countering Russian Influence Fund for building deployable cyber response teams to be formed in the Czech Armed Forces.

Visegrad Four Defence Ministers discussed Ukraine, intensification of cooperation

The city of Banská Štiavnica hosted the meeting of the Defence Ministers of the Visegrad Four countries. Their agenda included continuing assistance to Ukraine and particularly the opportunities to strengthen the V4 defence cooperation. The meeting was convened by Slovakia, which holds the V4 Presidency. The Czech Republic was represented by Defence Minister Jana Černochová.
EU-NATO cooperation as the key to Euro-Atlantic Security

Identifying specific options designed to improve cooperation of EU and NATO defence planning, enhancing planning of the EU defence capabilities and stepping up the implementation of EU capability development targets: those were the objectives of the international seminar called The EU and NATO Defence Planning Coherence held in Prague on September 19-20, 2022, and organised by the Czech Ministry of Defence as part of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Besides representatives and experts from the EU Member States and NATO Nations, the seminar was attended by representatives of the European Defence Agency, EU and NATO staffs and the academia.
